He was 1 year old at the time o Block 4 Section C, Lot 39-S, Grave 5 Joseph, at age 30, was still living at home with his parents and twoyou nger brothers, Nicolaus and Christopher on Hopkins Road in NorthMilwauk ee. The three brothers were all present at their older brotherAnthony' s wedding to Jeanette Durand in 1908. At the time of the 10April 1910 U S census, he listed his occupation as farm laborer. He hadbeen out of w ork for 4 months that year. Sometime around 1917, Joseph married Margaret (last name unknown), thew idowed wife of Jacob Hoffmann. She had two young boys, Elmer andRaymond . In 1918 a daughter, Beatrice Marie was born to Margaret andJoseph. Sa dly she died within a year after birth. Four years laterthey had a seco nd child, a boy whom they named Elroy. Margaret diedwhen Elroy was just s ix years old. At the time of the 1920 census, Joseph and Margaret were living at 258S heridan Avenue in Milwaukee and had 2 stepchildren living with them.The y were Elmer Hoffmann age 8 and Ramond Hoffmann age 6. Ten years later Raymond Hoffman (age 16) was living as a lodger withFra nk and Mary (Mae?) Braun. Sometime after the death of Joseph's wife Margaret in October 1928,Jose ph must have moved. The 1930 Milwaukee city directory lists Jos.P. Bon erz home at 3922 Sheridan Ave. Joseph's occupation is given asironworke r. In the1931 edition, he is listed as a machine operator.Living at the s ame address are Martin and Alice (Boehm) David.

According to the Social Security Death Index, Joseph died in August1963 . He was still living at the same address on Sheridan Avenue.
